Planning Manager
Birmingham
£55,000-£70,000 + Bonus and Package
Are you the Senior Planner or Planning Manager looking to join one of the most successful housebuilders in the UK? This forward-thinking company is looking to add to its established Land and Planning team with the addition of a Planning Manager or Senior Planning Manager within the Midlands region.
This business is cash-rich, and are aggressively working on securing projects throughout Birmingham and the midlands specialising in the higher end of the residential Market
Within the role, you will be manage planning activities in relation to all aspects of land purchase, both short and long term to ensure that appropriate planning consents are obtained cost effectively.
You will also have a strong eye for detail and be proven to deliver work to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
* Actively participate as part of the planning function’s management team in the general running of the company and achieving the company’s targets and assist in ensuring that best practices are followed, costs are controlled, and the department maximises revenue generation and contribution to the company’s operating profit.
* Undertake Planning Appraisals of potential development sites, identify risks, and make recommendations on the prospects of achieving planning permission and the likely timeframes.
* Prepare and manage applications and planning appeals for residential and mixed use developments of varying scale involving both brownfield and greenfield sites across the country.
* Engage into negotiations with officers, local community groups and other stakeholders at both pre-application and post-application submission stages.
* Monitor and advise on the way in which changes in planning policy, legislation, and regulation are likely to shape the planning strategies and investment decisions made by the Company.
* Help ensure the planning team operates in accordance with Company policies and procedures and develop a strong understanding of development opportunities and competitor activity.Key Experiences:
* At least 3-4 years’ land acquisition experience (commercial or residential)
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the confidence to communicate and negotiate effectively at all levels
* Effective self-management to ensure deadlines are met
* Experience of building strong relationships, networking and promoting a business
* Ability to travel to meetings sometimes in remote or rural locations
Package:
* £60,000 - £70,000 Basic (depending on experience)
