About Us:
We are a well-established manufacturer based in Leicestershire, operational for 35 years. We are part of an international group and have a unique position in the value chain with our in-house extrusion facilities in Europe and the United Kingdom.
Our manufacturing sites employ a team of 150 staff, predominantly operational and based onsite, with additional support from a small sales and management team.
As we continue to grow and shape our future as a more standalone UK business, we are seeking a proactive HR Manager to lead our human resource function.
About the Role:
As our HR Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our workforce and promoting our inclusive culture. You'll be an active member of the Senior Leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Employee Well-being: Ensure prudent use of Occupational Health services. Work with Managers to manage long-term sickness absence and potential return-to-work plans. Promote regular wellbeing campaigns.
2. Company Culture: Champion alongside the senior leadership team to foster an employee-oriented culture emphasizing quality, continuous improvement, and high performance.
3. HR Strategies: Develop with the senior leadership team and implement strategies aligned with our business goals.
4. Recruitment & Selection: Work with managers to lead the recruitment process, arrange interviews, manage diaries, maintain KPIs on turnover and cost per hire. Agree with managers the requirements for their vacancies, contact agencies, and advertise on job boards.
5. HR Systems: Work with the Payroll and HR Advisor to implement a new HR System. Maintain accurate HR records in preparation for migration to a cloud-based system. Ensure that all policies are reviewed and up to date, and procedures are understood and followed across the business.
6. Benefits Program: Review the company benefits on an annual basis with the third-party broker. Ensure that employees are aware of the benefits available to them and maintain the benefits program where necessary.
7. Training & Development: Work with managers to understand their teams' training needs, arrange for training to take place, and raise purchase orders. Collaborate with the senior leadership team on driving the leadership development program across all levels of management.
8. Legal Compliance: Ensure legal and GDPR compliance in HR practices.
9. Onboarding: Work with managers to arrange and plan new employee onboarding, including induction plans and welcome meetings.
10. Offboarding: Work with managers to agree on leaving dates for employees. Arrange exit interviews and provide written confirmation of leaving dates and business requirements.
11. Work Environment: Collaborate with the senior leadership team and managers to nurture a positive working environment. Be visible on the shop floor making regular people connections (shop floor, managers, and office). Responsible for arranging business events such as long service awards, quarterly town hall sessions, and business celebration events.
12. Payroll: Oversee the payroll function (one direct report).
13. Operations Meetings: Attend the daily morning operations meeting and arrange monthly one-on-one meetings with managers to review the needs of the teams.
The Candidate:
This role would suit a candidate with prior experience in the manufacturing or engineering sectors.

6. Experience in influencing managers of all levels with different views, helping to steer decision-making and legal requirements.
7. Able to work confidently with data to make decisions and look for trends.
8. Able to lead and inspire individuals and maintain effective team relationships.
