A newly created position within a well-established and reputable logistics company with a strong presence across the UK and globally. They are seeking a Transport Operations Controller to take ownership of their Transport department. Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, you'll have the chance to make impactful contributions by leveraging your logistics expertise to enhance transport functions. Your role will focus on managing haulage business, arranging collections and deliveries, improving service offerings to customers, and using your exceptional negotiation skills to exceed customer expectations. What you'll be doing as a in Transport Operations Controller, but not limited to: Receiving and processing customer orders for outbound deliveries. Organising the most efficient, cost-effective transport solutions to ensure on-time deliveries. Booking customer deliveries and negotiating competitive rates with haulage partners. Ensuring delivery documentation is accurate and processing partner invoices. Onboarding new haulage partners and obtaining necessary documentation. Collaborating with the customs team to support import/export operations. Investigating delivery issues, conducting root cause analyses, and providing preventative recommendations. Developing SOPs for haulage operations when required. Ensuring timely completion of reports, including customer-specific KPIs. Communicating effectively with team members, customers, and management. Your experience and attributes as a Transport Operations Controller will include: Extensive and demonstrable knowledge of transport and haulage operations. Excellent negotiation and communication skills to build strong relationships. Confidence in handling challenges and overcoming internal/external issues.
