Day to Day of the Role: Monitor and control all automated Sludge treatment and incineration processes on a 24/7 basis. Providing seamless coverage via implementation of effective shift changeover and communication procedures. Operate in accordance with Best Operational Practice to ensure targets are met. Responsible for making process changes, to ensure compliance as appropriate Monitor environmental emissions and adjust operation and dosing to maintain compliance Effective communication with contractors, maintenance team and sludge clients on a daily basis to ensure all are aware of current status. Ensure that all plant defects are reported accurately on the company maintenance reporting system. Provision of plant for maintenance/inspections and completion of plant release Prepare and assist in operational reports as requested by the operation manager / STL Ensure all routine or non routine start up and shut down procedures are followed. Report process/product non-compliance. Provision of operational trends and KPI information as requested, weekly, monthly, annually. Provision of plant availability weekly, monthly & annually. Respond to all incidents, escalating as appropriate. Timely reporting of events/accidents to Line Manager. Initiate all Out of Hours incident investigations to ensure timely capture of all relevant health, safety and environmental close calls, accidents or incidents in AVA Manage timely provision of all bulk consumables, spares, and other materials Appropriate records kept on all chemical deliveries. Day-to-day process optimization to optimise chemical and power consumption. Monitor and forecast chemical, spares, materials and power consumption for budget holders monthly budget review. Site Security. 24/7 Health & Safety Process area responsibility - ensure all are aware of new issues as they arise, ensure all issues are logged and actioned. Provide immediate mitigation of H&S risks as appropriate. Housekeeping in all areas to be monitored and improvements implemented where necessary. Administration of BMS procedures e.g. planned maintenance, emissions and customer complaints response. Maintenance record keeping. Tool work when requested. What we're looking for; Min 2 years process experience. NVQ Level 3/Time served, electrical, mechanical qualification. Communication Skills. IT literate e.g. Word/Excel proficiency. Process plant operations and or maintenance Time management. Able to operate, or train to operate a variety of mobile equipment and fixed plant. Able to work a continuous rotating shift pattern, including adequate voluntary overtime to cover the workload and colleagues' absences. Self-motivated, able to prioritise tasks and work with minimal supervision. An effective team member, able to communicate well orally and in writing. Flexible, with a creative approach to problem-solving. Effective Communication. Informed Decision Making. Knowledge of waste incineration. Desirable: Knowledge regulatory environment for IPPC/Incineration Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and company controls, policies and procedures. Flexible management and coordination skills. Experience gained through working in a continuous process environment, preferably with experience of working shifts. An understanding of current environmental legislation, also knowledge of IPPC permit controls. Pressure Systems Boiler Operations Relevant yellow plant ticket/licences, such as forklift truck, overhead crane, shunter etc. IOSH Working Safely. Confined spaces training / experience.What's next?
