Our Water consultancy client is seeking Wastewater Modellers at all levels on a hybrid working basis out of Leeds or London offices.
Their Urban Drainage Modelling Team undertakes a range of projects relating to wastewater and integrated catchments including feasibility studies, surface water management plans, model build and verification, and development impact assessments.
The team also undertakes optioneering with a focus on smart network management and sustainable drainage solutions. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the design and analysis of urban drainage systems, contributing to sustainable water management solutions.
Hybrid working offered with 2/3 days in either London or Leeds offices.
Responsibilities (depending on Engineer or Senior/Principal level)
1. Working within agreed deliverables, key milestones, project methodology, quality assurance and control strategy.
2. Leading project delivery tasks which may include engagement with clients' technical teams.
3. Providing technical guidance, support, and training to less experienced colleagues.
4. Working in close collaboration with and supporting colleagues from other disciplines as required.
5. Recommending/implementing improvements to technical policy, processes, and design solutions where applicable, and sharing via the knowledge management channels as appropriate.
Skills/Experience/Qualifications
1. Experience in sewerage/wastewater modelling is essential.
2. Experience in the model build and verification of integrated catchment models, catchment planning, and solution development using Infoworks ICM.
3. Experience of water quality modelling or undertaking UPM studies would be advantageous.
4. Experience of GIS (e.g. ArcGIS or Mapinfo) and Infoworks ICM hydraulic modelling software is essential.
5. A track record in mentoring team members less experienced in this field.
6. Experience of managing projects and acting as technical discipline lead on urban drainage modelling projects is essential.
7. Knowledge of the UK legislation and relevant guidance governing the technical discipline.
8. Chartered (or nearing chartership for Senior positions) with a professional body such as CIWEM or ICE (an advantage).
