Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced interior designer or stager to take a leadership role in our growing business. This individual will be responsible for the design, execution, and project management of high-end staging and interior design projects, while driving business development efforts. You’ll be client-facing and will collaborate with both internal teams and external clients to deliver exceptional design solutions and ensure smooth project delivery.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the design and staging industry, with a strong understanding of client engagement, business development, and project management. Key Responsibilities:
Client Engagement & Business Development:
* Lead client-facing meetings and manage relationships with key clients, BTR operators, developers, estate agents, and referrers.
* Present design proposals and staging concepts, offering expert guidance to win new business and ensure client satisfaction.
* Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop compelling quotations and presentations that help secure new projects.
* Act as a brand ambassador, representing DiffeRent Design in industry events and client interactions.
Design & Project Management:
* Oversee the design and execution of staging projects, ensuring that all stages - from conceptualization to installation - are completed to the highest standards.
* Lead project timelines, resources, budgets, and teams, ensuring smooth delivery of design solutions.
* Design, budget furniture packages.
* Coordinate with internal teams (sales, logistics, installation crew) to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.
* Provide design direction and feedback to junior designers and interns.
* Manage multiple projects simultaneously while balancing client expectations, deadlines, and resources.
Reporting & Performance Tracking:
* Regularly report project progress, budgets, and timelines to senior leadership.
* Track and optimise project costs, ensuring high standards without exceeding budget.
* Measure client satisfaction and contribute to improving the overall client experience.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Extensive experience in interior design, with a particular focus on staging and project management.
* Proficient in CAD and design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
* Strong understanding of design principles, space planning, and staging techniques.
* Experience in client-facing roles with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
* Proven ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and timelines effectively.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
* Strong business development acumen with a creative approach to problem-solving.
* A portfolio showcasing diverse design projects, particularly in high-end staging or residential design.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
* 2+ years of experience in the design or staging industry.
* Previous business development or sales experience within the design/staging market.
* Established industry contacts and strong knowledge of the property market.
