Applications are invited from suitably qualified General Dental Surgeons for the full or part-time post of Clinical Lecturer or Clinical Teaching Fellow in Primary Care Dentistry. These roles are ideal for skilled General Dental Practitioners who would like to expand their clinical portfolio by teaching and favourably influencing the education of the next generation of dentists whilst developing professional relationships with colleagues. Part-time sessions will be timetabled to complement existing teaching clinics which follow a regular weekly pattern. Upon appointment, the successful candidate will be employed by the University of Aberdeen and will also be awarded an honorary contract with NHS Grampian. The postholder will inspire learning and skills development in student clinics and simulation laboratory in a proficient manner to optimise patient care. They will be supported in their role by experienced academic, clinical and professional services support colleagues within the Institute, NHS Grampian and the wider University. The post is based at the Institute of Dentistry located within Aberdeen Dental Hospital. Clinical Lecturers will be responsible for the development and delivery of teaching in Restorative Dentistry and potentially Paediatric Dentistry or Oral Surgery for the undergraduate BDS dental curriculum and some aspects of the DipHE Dental Technology curriculum. As part of this role you will provide clinical supervision on our student clinics and skills teaching. Clinical Teaching Fellows will support the delivery of the BDS dental and DipHE Dental Technology curricula, including assisting with assessment, student support, teaching initiatives, pastoral support and teaching administration. Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Clinical scale for Academics below level of Consultant, £43,504 - £82,664 per annum for Clinical Lecturer, and £43,504 - £71,216 per annum for Clinical Teaching Fellows; negotiable according to qualifications and clinical experience.
