An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the review and implementation of the Kent Environment Strategy and the associated Energy and Low Emissions strategy across Kent. We are looking for someone who has extensive experience leading large County wide environmental programs and delivering positive outcomes that maximise co-benefits.
The postholder will lead on the delivery of the councils Net Zero 2030 ambitions and the County wide Net Zero 2050 commitment, whilst providing clear leadership and direction to both the staff team and a wide range of stakeholders to enable the development and delivery of initiatives that tackle the climate change challenges across a multitude of areas, including climate change mitigation and adaptation, decarbonisation of the KCC estate, domestic retrofit, energy efficiency improvements and other associated decarbonisation activity in line with emerging government guidance.
This position will lead the next phase of the strategic approach to climate change and the associated policies and action plans to ensure we are on track to achieve our environmental commitments made under Framing Kents Future.
This full-time role will benefit from hybrid working options with a mixture of working from the office and from home. The office base will be Invicta House, Maidstone.
