About the Role As the SENCO, you will be responsible for overseeing the provision for students with special educational needs across the school. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the school’s SEN provision, ensuring that students with SEND receive high-quality support. Work closely with classroom teachers to create and implement effective Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and tailored learning strategies. Provide guidance and training to staff on best practices for supporting students with SEND. Monitor and assess the progress of students with SEND, ensuring that appropriate interventions are in place. Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to supporting students. Ensure compliance with SEN-related legislation and school policies. Lead and manage a team of teaching assistants and support staff to deliver targeted interventions. What We’re Looking For We would love to hear from you if you are: A qualified teacher with the National Award for SEN Coordination (or working towards it). Experienced in managing SEND provision within a secondary school setting. Passionate about inclusive education and ensuring all students have equal access to learning opportunities. Strong in leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Able to build positive relationships with staff, students, and external partners.
