The Procurement function has undergone an extensive positive transformation. We are seeking a standout candidate to continue this progress and delivery. As a Procurement Officer with The ExtraCare Charitable Trust, you will be a key team member in the procurement function operations. You will be responsible for managing the daily operational procurement, in spend analytics, management of key MI, both external and internal, contracts database and pipeline generation, category spend reports, supplier onboarding and due diligence, daily monitoring and action of procurement action requests and the team internal SharePoint. You will be responsible for operation of the procurement systems. Purchase orders are raised outside of Procurement; however, you will need to have a strong systems-based background, familiar with spend analysis tools, e-procurement, portals and data feeds. You will be required to undertake key supplier onboarding due diligence and will need familiarity with this type of process. A key skill set is an in depth understanding of the importance of MI in the support and application of procurement strategies and category management.
The role requires a forward-thinking progressive and proactive individual capable of identifying process efficiencies and changes, mapping and classifying processes and proactively seeking improvement. And implementing to outcome.
This role will require strong interpersonal skills, articulate individuals able to positively influence and engage with internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes. Time and task management is critical with a proven track record in delivering multitasking and continually varying requirements along with planned weekly and monthly activity.
The role also requires the Procurement Officer to manage LVPS (low value procurement strategy) continually seeking solutions and resolution to significantly reduce low value high volume spend proactively. The candidate shall have a good general understanding of public sector procurement but does not require expertise in the regulations as this will be support by the Procurement Category Manager’s and the Head of Procurement but must be familiar with public sector frameworks and direct award procedures.

The ideal candidate will have previous demonstrable experience within a similar role, a methodical approach, be flexible and approachable, with strong interpersonal skills and a proactive, focus approach, with a proven track record in procurement operations.
Our ideal Procurment Officer candidate will have: -
13. A recognised business degree or equivalent qualification
14. At least 5 years in a similar role and relatable sector
15. Strong systems related knowledge and highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
16. Additional Project Management skills would be an advantage.
17. Analytical mind set and demonstrable experience in manipulating numerical and management information.
