As they continue to grow, they are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their dynamic team and take charge of a variety of complex processes across multiple departments. Main duties and responsibilities They are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead and manage a team of engineers and fitters across multiple departments. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, design, and optimisation of complex machinery while ensuring that safety, efficiency, and quality standards are maintained. Key features of the role To lead Mechanical capital projects within your department, modification and continuous improvement activities ensuring that these meet or exceed the requirements of the site's mission and objectives. This includes direct leadership of projects, contributing Mechanical elements to multi-disciplinary projects led by others and also co-ordination of other Mechanical projects through contract engineering resource. Provide a high level of Technical Support to the site. This covers the full range of Mechanical systems (i.e. Pumps, Vessels, Piping, and Minor Civil works) and in particular includes H&S elements. Provide a valued and proactive contribution to the management and development of the wider engineering activities. Ensuring all project and other engineering activities within area of responsibility are completed in full compliance with all statutory regulations and site HS&E standards, policies and procedures. Ensure that all activities carried out by the contractors/service providers used on site, within area of responsibility, are completed in a safe and environmentally acceptable manner. Specifically, as minimum regulatory/statutory requirements will be met or exceeded and full compliance with the site HS&E policy, standards and procedures striven for. Understand and maintain an up-to-date awareness of the current and forthcoming HS&E legalisation and their impact on the Mechanical improvement activities on site to include COMAH. Provide advice, in conjunction with the Chief Engineer. Zone responsibility as outlined on the Site Housekeeping Plan. Management / Supervisory Responsibilities Leadership and management of designated Mechanical Maintenance Technicians and Assistant Engineers Provision of leadership, development, and coaching to your direct reports. The performance management of your direct reports. Requirements Qualifications and Experience Candidates preferably will be degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or be HNC qualified. 5 years experience working with Manufacturing or Plant equipment Ability to plan and organise & lead teams Actively demonstrates team leadership skills to enhance the outcomes of the team.
