Job Title: Senior Mechanical Designer
Location:
Yorkshire and the Humber, West Yorkshire, Huddersfield
Job Type:
Contract, expected to work Full-Time hours
Job Duties:
Design and develop mechanical components and systems for manufacturing processes
Create detailed drawings and specifications using CAD software (Solid Edge preferred)
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet project requirements
Conduct feasibility studies and analysis to validate design solutions
Provide technical support during the manufacturing and installation phase
Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Proven experience as a Mechanical Designer in a manufacturing environment
Demonstrated proficiency in CAD software and other design tools
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Designer in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge and Skills:
In-depth understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Knowledge of industry standards and regulations
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Professional certification in Mechanical Design
Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software
Working Conditions:
