Logistics & Lab Operative (M/F/D)
The Opportunity:
Avantor is looking for Logistics & Lab Operative to join the team based in Slough, UK! In this position, you’ll take ownership of supporting the warehouse in the laboratory, supporting scientists across UCB Discovery Biology Department.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 16:30
The team:
You’ll belong to a collaborative team of 6 in our business department Lab and Product Services, which supports leading pharmaceutical companies and laboratories all over the world in Research and Development within the Life Sciences industry.
What we’re looking for:
Education:
* Five GCSE’s including Maths, English, and one or more Science subjects essential or previous working experience in a laboratory.
Experience:
* Previous experience working in a warehouse/cleanroom environment and knowledge of SHE regulations is highly desirable.
* Outstanding attention to detail.
* Ability to understand and follow Health & Safety instructions.
* Proven excellent customer service focus and ability to work collaboratively.
* Good IT skills required (including Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook).
How you’ll thrive and create an impact:
* Receiving stock deliveries, ensuring storage in accurate locations and accurate temperatures.
* Shipping of finished goods out to the end user, ensuring that the correct shipping documentation is included with consignments to ad-hoc countries.
* Supervising stock consumption metrics, then ordering and replenishing stock based on demand, using an SAP-based system.
* Preparation of media and standard reagents as required and maintain stocks of both sterile and non-sterile consumable items within the laboratories.
* Assisting the scientific personnel, carrying out routine cleaning and performance checking of equipment (pH meters and balances) keeping accurate results of work.
