An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Cardiac Physiologist to rotate between the Clinical Measurements Department and the newly built CDCs, one located in Great Yarmouth and the other on the JPUH site.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking, and motivated Senior Cardiac Physiologist to join our friendly team, supporting our ambulatory monitoring and exercise testing services.
You will need to have excellent communication skills with the ability to work both as part of a team and independently, along with a sound knowledge of cardiac anatomy.
The department offers a comprehensive range of non-invasive investigations including adult and paediatric ECGS, ambulatory monitoring and Physiologist led exercise tolerance tests. The post holder will be responsible for the delivery and organisation of these services.
Within the department there is small Echocardiography team providing a full inpatient and outpatient transthoracic echo service including ACHD clinics. As well as TTE we run Physiologist led valve clinics, bubble studies and DSE clinics as well as supporting TOE lists.
Suitable applicants will have completed a BSc in Clinical Physiology (or equivalent) and be RCCP or AHCS registered and have current experience in ambulatory monitoring and exercise testing as well as meeting the requirements detailed in the person specification and job description.
* Plan and implement cardiac non-invasive diagnostic procedures without direct supervision, including the setting and monitoring of standards
* Support the management responsibility of the Multi-Disciplinary Team within the Clinical Measurement Department with specific responsibility for providing professional support and specialist cardiac physiologist advice as necessary
* Provide specialist ECG and ambulatory monitoring training and act as departmental clinical educator to support the development of junior staff
* Take charge of the Clinical Measurement Department as required

Technical / Clinical Procedures
* Provide preparation and data collection, at an optimum level in the following areas:
* Electrocardiography
* Exercise Testing (doctor supervised and physiologist led)
* Ambulatory monitoring (24 hour cardiac tapes, blood pressure monitoring and event recording)
* Undertake analysis of diagnostic results and provide concise reports to support a clinical diagnosis.
* Ensure results are appropriately dealt with and acted upon with appropriate urgency.
* Provide oversight of the ambulatory monitoring service as a whole, reporting any issues promptly.
* Responsible for overseeing and verifying the technical work, including analysis and reports for Cardiac Physiologist Apprentice’s, Assistant Practitioners and Cardiographers.
* Effective decision making and responsibility for effective clinical management plans as required.
* Undertake routine equipment maintenance including fault reporting, calibration testing and maintain servicing intervals.
