Overview:
We are looking for talented and driven RF Engineers and Designers to join a dynamic team within the UK engineering and defence sector. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and validation of advanced RF systems for a variety of applications, including defence and security systems. You will use industry-standard tools and methodologies to deliver high-performance, reliable solutions that meet the stringent demands of the defence industry.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop RF systems, components, and subsystems for a range of applications, with a focus on defence and security sectors.
* Perform detailed RF analysis, simulations, and circuit design using leading industry tools.
* Support the creation, execution, and management of test plans for both design verification and validation.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integration and performance standards are met.
* Use RF test equipment such as spectrum analysers, network analysers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes for design and troubleshooting.
* Optimise designs for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness while maintaining performance standards.
* Document designs, test plans, and results, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards.
* Ensure that all work complies with sector-specific regulatory requirements and standards, including security protocols.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or a related field.
* Proven experience in RF design, testing, and validation, ideally within a regulated or defence-related environment.
* Proficiency in RF design and simulation tools, such as ADS, Microwave Office, CST, or HFSS.
* Strong understanding of RF principles including propagation, impedance matching, filtering, and signal processing.
* Experience using RF test equipment such as network analysers, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
* Familiarity with verification and validation processes, including system-level testing.
* Knowledge of relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO, DEF STAN, MIL-STD) and security clearance requirements.
* Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
Desirable Skills:
* Higher qualifications (e.g., Master's degree) in a relevant engineering field.
* Previous experience in the defence, aerospace, or similarly regulated sectors.
* Knowledge of radar, communications, or electronic warfare systems.
* Experience with testing and validation software such as LabVIEW or TestStand.
* Understanding of embedded systems and hardware-software integration.
* Active UK security clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
