Behaviour Support Assistant - Newport We are currently looking to employ Behaviour Support Assistants to support Primary & Alternative provision sites in Newport. About the Role: Support students in both group and individual settings, focusing on behaviour management and emotional support. Promote an inclusive learning environment, ensuring all students feel valued and supported in their social and emotional development. Work with a variety of students, giving you the opportunity to gain experience across a range of needs, from SEMH to ADHD and anxiety-based disorders. Help implement strategies that encourage positive behaviour and emotional growth. Build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents to foster a supportive and collaborative environment. Encourage students to develop their social skills, emotional understanding, and resilience. The Ideal Candidate: Holds a Team Teach qualification (or is willing to work towards it – we can support you with this). Has the ability to develop strong, trusting relationships with students. Demonstrates a supportive and motivational nature, with the ability to inspire students to achieve their best. Able to communicate effectively and sensitively with students, staff, and parents. Possesses a good standard of written and spoken English. Has experience working in the SEND Education sector or Healthcare sector (preferred but not essential). Is genuinely passionate about supporting students in a special educational needs environment. Available to work 5 days per week between the hours of 8.30 am – 3 pm. EWC Registered (we can support you with this if you have not yet registered).
