What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to work under the instruction and guidance of teachers or senior staff to undertake work, care and support programmes that will enable our pupils to access learning and to assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom.
The successful candidate may be required to provide 1:1 and small group support, primarily within the class, dependant on school requirements.
This will be a fixed term contract and may involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups or short term for whole classes and monitoring students and assessing, recording and reporting on students’ achievement, progress and development. Work may be carried out in the classroom or outside the main teaching area.
The successful candidate will have:
• the ability to inspire, motivate and engage pupils encouraging them to learn
• the ability to work as part of a team
• the ability to relate to children and other adults
• excellent literacy and numeracy skills
• the ability to identify potential barriers to learning and jointly engage in strategies to overcome these barriers
