Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified Advanced Practitioner in Histological Dissection to join us in the SHYPS network working on the Hull site in Cellular Pathology. This is a full time role which will require an element of flexibility on a day to basis. The full details of the role can be found in the job description and person specification attached. Main duties of the job As an Advanced Practitioner in Histological Dissection, the post holder will be responsible for supervising and performing a wide range of complex scientific procedures which result in interpretation of biological samples that contribute to the diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of diseases and the investigation of other pathological processes. Reportingdirectly through line management to Consultant Histopathologists, the AdvancedPractitioner will be deemed to be competent in the areas of specimen description,dissection and sampling of specimens that fall within the RCPath designation of categoryB and C specimens and understand the clinical impact of that practice. After completion of the Diploma of Expert Practice and with a minimum of six months' experience; training will be extended to include cancer resection specimen following an in-house training program. The post holder will be directly involved with the development and review of Standard OperatingProcedures within their designated area. The post holder will also undertake analytical,technical and administrative troubleshooting to ensure reliable service delivery.
