Job Title : Ld., AG Supplier Reporting To: Manager, Supply Chain Work Schedule: Hybrid – Tewkesbury, GBR Moog is looking for a Supplier Lead to join the team at our site in Tewkesbury for a 9-month fixed term contract. As a Supplier Lead, you’ll be the primary point of contact responsible for the holistic management of assigned suppliers. You’ll develop and maintain effective relationships with your designated suppliers and our supply chain team in order to achieve the operational requirements for all Moog Aircraft Group sites. You will be responsible for the surveillance and monitoring of suppliers as well as evaluation of supplier performance including the identification and mitigation of risk. Using standard systems and processes you’ll provide effective purchase order management to ensure current and verified delivery information is reflected. You’ll lead problem-solving activities to resolve relationship and performance issues, support and potentially lead recovery and improvement activities, and ensure the effective and timely closure of root causes and corrective actions. Providing regional support for supplier selection, supplier development, and NPI you will also use your regional and supplier knowledge to provide input to supply chain planning. Identification and pursuit of quality, cost, delivery, and lead time improvements all form part of your role. Your ability to effectively collaborate and influence across multiple functions, geographical regions, and cultures to achieve global end-to-end supply chain performance requirements and your flexibility around working hours in order to work with teams located in different time zones will certainly contribute to your success in this role. Your strong analytical and problem-solving abilities along with your excellent working knowledge and understanding of contractual requirements, business systems, and processes will be of great value. Key Responsibilities Responsible for developing and managing effective supplier relationships to achieve the business requirements. Responsible for the surveillance and monitoring of assigned suppliers. Evaluation of supplier performance including the Identification & mitigation of risk. Provides effective purchase order management to insure current and verified delivery information is reflected using standard systems and processes. Ensures the effective and timely closure of root cause and corrective actions. When necessary expedites supplier deliveries to achieve site operational requirements. Leads problem solving activities to resolve issue affecting supplier relationships and supply chain performance. Support and potentially lead supplier performance recovery & improvement activities. Provides regional support for supplier selection, supplier development and NPI. Using regional and supplier knowledge to provide input to supply chain planning. Identification and pursuit of quality, cost, delivery, and lead time improvements. Special Circumstances Must be able to collaborate and effectively influence across multiple functions, cultures and geographic regions, to achieve global end to end supply chain performance requirements. This requires working with teams located in different time zones, resulting in the need to be flexible with working hours, as required. The role involves travel throughout the UK and Europe Key Skills and Experience A bachelor’s degree level education, preferred in the fields of engineering, supply chain, or business. Greater than 5 years of progressive experience (usually post-education) in the field of manufacturing or engineering (preferably Aerospace) Desired qualifications would include Certification in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Program Management, additional education, and a master’s degree in business and engineering. An engineering or technical background is preferable, along with Project/Program Management experience. Good negotiating skills, combined with knowledge of procurement and contractual law are preferred. Strong communication skills are required in the form of written, verbal, and formal presentations. Ability to deal with a variety of tasks at any one time and understand the priorities and to be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
