A bit about the role Our successful therapeutic fostering service is now looking to recruit a Fostering Social Worker to join our team. The fostering service provides safe, stable foster homes for vulnerable children and young people. You’ll be working on a hybrid basis which includes visiting foster families, attending meetings, working from home, and attending the office. As a Fostering Social Worker for our sector leading Fostering Wales service you'll train and support Foster Parents to provide stable family homes to young people who have survived trauma so a therapeutic approach is a vital part of our work. How you'll help to create brighter futures Working with local authorities and partner agencies Recruiting and assessing foster parents Supporting foster parents with the challenges and rewards of caring for young people and children with complex needs Delivering excellent, evidence-informed and therapeutic practice as a member of a skilled and motivated team Participating in a culture of learning and continuing professional development for carers and staff Being responsible for your own caseload. Ideally you will have: A Social Work Degree or DipSW is essential Registration with Social Care Wales. Willingness to work flexibly including participation in an out of hours telephone support rota for foster parents The ability to work within timescales. Commitment to our child centred values. The ability to drive with access to a car. The job requires the ability to travel according to the needs of the job, with reasonable adjustments, if required, according to the Equality Act.
