Job Description:
Learn the skills required for hardware development. This includes developing practical skills in advanced design techniques for aerospace applications, understanding of key technologies, developing experience using ECAD tools and test equipment. Contribute to the design and development of hardware systems, including analogue, digital, and mixed-signal circuits for avionic sensor systems. You will be encouraged to gain experience in all aspects of the development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, applied research, and testing. You will have the opportunity to become involved in electronics hardware disciplines e.g. RF, Microwave, Antenna, FPGA, firmware, high-speed digital engineering, EMC, and Power Supply engineering. Throughout the development process, an understanding of the product domain becomes a key element of the learning process, requiring close liaison with engineers from other disciplines, such as Systems, Software, and Mechanical.
Experience And Qualifications:
Minimum of a 2:2 Bachelor’s, Integrated Masters degree, or higher degree (MSc or PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related discipline. For the Graduate Electronics Engineer role, the preferred degrees are: Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Robotics Science / Robotics and Cybernetics, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Engineering Physics, and would also consider Physics / Applied Physics. A strong interest in hardware design and development is essential. Familiarity with circuit design and simulation tools is advantageous but not essential as training will be provided. Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a desire to work collaboratively in a team are crucial. A proactive approach to learning new technologies is also important.
