As Estimator for Dematic, you will be working as part of an international team of professionals dedicated to the development of our automated solutions. The role supports our commercial activities by delivering cost estimations of the project during the bid and tender phase.
For this particular role, we’re seeking those with an in-depth knowledge of the costs associated with project-based work who can minimise over and underspends, apply contemporary costing methodologies to determine the most accurate costs and support both the sales and solution development teams in their activities.

Key Responsibilities:
5. Deliver project estimations within Dematic’s EMEA regions.
6. Enable our internal EMEA Sales and Solution Development teams to achieve their order intake targets.
7. Minimise PVRs (over/underspends) attributed to the development of the project solution.
8. Continuously improve and support the enhancements of our internal costing tools and the cost estimate calculations within the tools.
9. Collaborate with the Solution Development disciplines to share ideas and improvements.
10. Utilize contemporary cost methodologies to determine the cost of products, modules, and subsystems in a solution.
11. Collaborate with engineering, factories, and other internal departments as necessary to ensure the technical implementation aligns with cost estimates.
12. Regularly benchmark calculated costs and challenge the organization to improve.
13. Create a cash-flow calculation to ensure that the payments received from the customer cover the costs of the project as they occur.
14. Assist in post-execution analysis of won project tenders and post-mortem analysis of lost project tenders.
15. Identify potential risks, and opportunities and communicate these to the Solution Project Manager.
16. Participate in internal project meetings and facilitate effective collaboration among team members.
17. Assist the purchasing department in creating technical requirements that can be sent to third-party suppliers to request quotations.
18. Screen interfaces with third-party suppliers to ensure everything is foreseen.
19. Work with the Solution Design team to optimize the layout for cost calculation.
20. Thoroughly review the customer's RFQ documentation to ensure a clear understanding of all requirements and deliverables and assist in creating a list of inclusions and exclusions for the project scope.
21. Development of costing data analysis methods to drive cost improvements within SD EMEA
Qualifications & Experience:
22. An in-depth knowledge of project costing elements within an aligned EPC sector such as construction,
23. utilities, oil & gas, infrastructure, or industrial automation.
24. Experience working within project costings either from bids, tenders, financials, project management, or costing-based roles.
25. Proactive in keeping up to date with the latest estimating methodologies.
26. Unquestioned integrity with assertiveness, presence, and confidence.
27. Experience in costing models, calculations, and costing data analysis.
28. Analytical skills using Excel. Power BI and SQL knowledge are desirable.
