Position: Dual Fire Risk Assessor (National Coverage)

Reporting To: Principal Fire Risk Assessor
Salary: £50,000–£60,000 per annum
Location: London, but national coverage so plenty of travel to be expected
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform both fire risk assessments and health and safety risk assessments during a single visit.
2. Lead and conduct high-risk fire risk assessments using professional knowledge.
3. Deliver quality outcomes for responsible people and duty-holders, accepting responsibility for complex solutions.
4. Deploy teams and individuals to ensure safe and successful outcomes.
5. Demonstrate accountability and motivate others in high-risk fire risk assessments.
6. Conduct quality assurance, internal audits, and validation of Fire Safety activities.
7. Engage in business development activities as required.
8. Carry out planned and reactive Fire Risk Assessments across various premise types.
9. Prepare, present, and validate Fire Risk Assessments for clients, providing fire safety advice verbally and in detailed written reports.
10. Stay updated with new and emerging Fire Risk Assessment issues, dedicating time for continuous professional development.
11. Maintain alignment with NSI’s SP205 third-party accreditation scheme requirements.
12. Provide technical fire safety advice based on knowledge of UK Fire Safety Legislation and standards.
13. Support clients with training provision, fire strategies, and liaising with contractors and regulators.
14. Collaborate with fire services, managers, surveyors, and landlords to develop and implement fire safety plans.
15. Review personal development needs and maintain evidence of competence development.
16. Produce, review, and validate in-depth reports from assessments, including basic diagrammatic drawings.
17. Design, review, and deliver training on fire safety.
Requirements:
1. Full clean driving license and access to a vehicle; willing to travel throughout the UK.
2. Ability to stay away from home regularly.
3. Fully conversant with current fire safety legislation and technical standards.
4. Completed nationally recognised training courses and listed on the register of fire risk assessors.
5. MUST: NEBOSH certificate.
6. Nice to have: Additional certifications such as Fire Risk Assessment Training (Level 2 or 3), IFE Membership, BAFE SP205 Certification, IFSM Membership, City & Guilds or IOSH Training, FRA Competency Council Guidance Alignment, level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety, NAFRAR or IFE Register of Fire Risk Assessors.
