The role This is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference on a range of exciting government projects and shape the growing delivery management community. We are looking for experienced and adaptive Delivery Managers who can apply their agile delivery expertise pragmatically to guide teams to successful project outcomes. We promote multidisciplinary, ‘T shaped’ skillsets in our people and provide coaching and upskilling through a dedicated coaching model and skills academy. Requirements Responsibilities: You’ll apply your agile expertise to lead delivery in one or two workstreams, adapting your agile approach to suit the team and client needs. You’ll focus on successful execution of projects, applying a delivery mindset to continuous planning and management of project problems and risks; ensuring the team is on track for success and working to mitigate potential issues and risks before they impact delivery. You’ll be a key point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and developing a deep understanding of their needs and desired outcomes, translating asks into feasible delivery plans. You’ll focus on optimising team culture, performance, and health, supporting individuals and teams to operate at their peak and finding innovative ways to improve ways-of-working. You’ll contribute to building the Farsight delivery management community of practice, including coaching other delivery managers. We’ll assess the following skills during the application process: Agile expertise. You have a breadth of experience in agile frameworks and methods, and have applied these in multiple stages of the project lifecycle in service or software delivery. You can apply and adapt these pragmatically and innovatively to meet the needs of a team and client. Building and managing relationships. You can build and maintain strong relationships, demonstrating strong emotional intelligence and recognising the different needs of the diverse range of team members and clients we work with. You have experience mediating and mending relationships, and managing expectations of clients and stakeholders. Communication. You have strong listening, and verbal and written communication skills, which you can leverage to build relationships and facilitate effectively, asking the right questions to ensure meetings remain focused. You have experience communicating sensitive messages and navigating difficult conversations, steering these towards positive outcomes. Planning and project execution. You have experience collaborating with team members and clients to ensure the project roadmap will deliver what’s needed in the desired time-frame. You can assess feasibility of delivery and identify risks and dependencies which may impact success, taking appropriate action before they become issues. You can put plans into practice, keeping planning collaborative and agile and adjusting it as new learning comes to light. You can coordinate a multi-disciplinary team to keep them focused on delivery, ensuring each team member’s contribution feeds into priorities and the critical path. Leadership. You role-model positive and supportive servant leadership behaviours. You know how to adjust your leadership approach to meet the needs of a diverse team and create the right environment to keep team members motivated and empowered. You champion ways-of-working and a positive team culture. Commercial acumen. You are familiar with a range of contract framework approaches and can apply that knowledge to manage a project budget and identify commercial risk and opportunity. Adaptability. You can adjust your delivery management approach, including agile techniques and leadership approach to suit different client context and team needs.
