About The Role
This is a great opportunity to join Hounslow’s ambitious Urban Design and Conservation Team as a Junior Urban Design and Conservation Officer. We are looking for a talented and conscientious individual who is keen to progress their career in urban design and conservation and is eager to expand our design services to improve design within the borough.
You will assist the team with the running of Hounslow’s Design Review Panel, our independent and impartial evaluation process that assesses the design of significant development proposals, regeneration programmes, policies, briefs and guidance. The role will also require you to contribute to urban design and conservation projects and support the team with giving urban design and conservation advice on development schemes.
About The Team You’ll Be Working In
The Urban Design and Conservation Team sits within Hounslow’s Spatial Planning Team. The Spatial Planning team has responsibility for the Local Plan, infrastructure, urban design and conservation, with the key aims of delivering plan-led, well-designed growth that is informed by community input and conserving and enhancing our historic environment.
Working within this dynamic and ambitious team, you will be a key team member in helping the team grow its design reach. You will help to expand and improve the urban design services that the Council offers, with the aim of improving the design quality of new development across the borough.
You will report to the Design and Conservation Team Leader.
