Their expertise includes engine overhaul, final drive overhaul, and locomotive refurbishment. Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled Engine Tester (Mechanical) to carry out mechanical testing of engines, update reports, and ensure units are ready for circulation. The role involves hands-on engine strip-downs, testing components, and creating detailed reports. Key Responsibilities: Disassembly, testing, and reassembly of engines and components Recording engine test results and creating reports on the computer Understanding and repairing mechanical interfaces and vehicle components Installation and repair of hydraulic systems Fault finding and diagnostics on large engines Person Specification: Strong mechanical background essential Ideal candidates will have experience in HGVs, large engines, or rolling stock assembly Knowledge of engines, hydraulics, and pneumatics in plant or heavy goods is highly desirable Computer literate with the ability to update test reports Qualifications: Relevant engineering qualifications are beneficial but not essential for experienced candidates If you have the right experience and are looking for a long-term opportunity with a reputable company, apply today
