Our client, a large commercial organisation supporting the public sector, is seeking to hire a Procurement Lawyer to join their legal team. Successful applicants will have experience in procurement law and will have the opportunity to shape the organisation's long-term procurement strategies.
Responsibilities will include:
1. Supporting the design and implementation of a commercial compliance framework that follows applicable legal rules and embeds best practices.
2. Ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations in line with the Board's level of risk appetite, providing the standards on processes and controls.
3. Acting as a subject matter expert on Public Contract Regulations, horizon scanning for the organisation, and ensuring that the category team operates to the highest standards.
4. Supporting the implementation of the new standard procurement documents.
5. Supporting the pragmatic development of effective and legally compliant category and sourcing strategies.
6. Representing the legal function at meetings of the Category Decision Forum and, where appropriate, the Category Management Forum to ensure that decisions taken are informed by an assessment of legal risk.
Requirements:
1. At least 3 years of experience within a private practice or in-house environment practicing in a relevant area.
2. Extensive experience of procurement law.
3. A pragmatic approach to problem solving and an ability to engage with and involve a wide range of stakeholders and seniority across the whole of the supply chain.
4. A willingness to manage your own caseload and to respond to the demands of a fast-moving organisation.
This will be a hybrid opportunity requiring 2 days a week working from one of their offices based in various locations across Nottinghamshire, Cheshire, Yorkshire, and South Yorkshire, and 3 days working from home.
Salary: From just under 58K with an excellent benefits package including:
1. Performance bonus.
2. 27 days holiday plus bank holidays, with the option to purchase an additional 5 days.
