Purpose of the Role We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Director to join our leadership team at Monahans. This newly created role provides an outstanding opportunity to establish a new function within a collaborative and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will drive the firm’s growth strategy by identifying new business opportunities, developing relationships with key stakeholders, and expanding our client base. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Development: Develop and execute a comprehensive and prioritised business development strategy aligned with the firm's growth objectives. Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, new markets, and potential clients; assess the competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions. Client Acquisition: Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, referrals, marketing mapping, and targeted marketing campaigns; build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers. Partnership Development: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to establish strategic partnerships and referral arrangements that drive growth. Sales Management: Oversee the entire sales cycle from lead generation to deal closure; ensure revenue targets and KPIs are met or exceeded. Brand Positioning: Work closely with the marketing team to enhance the firm’s brand presence and market positioning, particularly in relation to the development of thought leadership and marketing collateral to support sales processes. Client Retention: Develop and implement client retention strategies to maximise client lifetime value and encourage repeat business and cross selling. Reporting and Analytics: Prepare regular reports on business development activities, progress against goals, and market trends; use data to refine and improve strategies. Skills and experience: Extensive experience in business development or consultative sales within a B2B environment, ideally within the accountancy or professional services sector. Proven ability to generate significant revenue growth and consistently meet or exceed business targets, with a strong focus on building sustainable client relationships. Demonstrated expertise in consultative selling, with the ability to understand client needs and tailor bespoke solutions to address them effectively. Understanding of the accountancy sector, including current trends, challenges, and opportunities within the industry. Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build trust with diverse groups, including senior decision-makers. Advanced negotiation skills and a proven ability to close deals that deliver long-term value. Strong organisational and time management abilities, thriving in fast-paced, results-driven environments while managing multiple priorities. Experience in leading and motivating teams to achieve collective goals, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance.
