As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that students with special educational needs and disabilities receive the personalised support they need to succeed. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEN within the classroom and during additional activities. Collaborate with teachers to adapt and prepare learning materials and resources. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress. Encourage positive behaviour and assist with personal care needs when required. Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents to support student development and wellbeing. Ensure a safe and supportive environment that enhances student engagement and learning. What We’re Looking For: Experience working with children with SEN, ideally within an educational or care setting. Understanding of various SEN needs and strategies to support them effectively. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting students’ individual needs. Relevant qualifications or certifications (e.g., Teaching Assistant qualification, SEN training) are advantageous. Flexibility to work across different schools in Northampton.
