Ceredigion County Council's School Service is looking for a very dynamic and enthusiastic individual to be an Educational Support Adviser. This is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive School Service where you will be a key leader on the strategies to improve schools in Ceredigion.
In conjunction with the Corporate Manager for School Improvement and the Chief Education Officer, you will contribute to educational improvement by supporting, advising and challenging schools and partners to achieve the highest standards. Ceredigion is part of the Mid Wales Education Partnership, and working with Powys to develop agreed priorities.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
1. undertake consultancy work in schools and with other partners within the authority and, from time to time, across other authorities
2. contribute to the work of the School Improvement Team leading on a specific theme
3. manage improvement in specific educational areas in the county and attend relevant forums at a local level, with the Mid Wales Partnership and with the Government
4. contribute to the development of school-to-school support by helping to identify innovative and effective practice and supporting collaboration between schools
5. contribute to brokering school support and co-ordinate support to meet the needs of schools
6. advise and assist the work of one of the regional committees
7. be a Line Manager of specific staff, monitoring and promoting their professional development
8. contribute as required to all aspects of driving improvement in schools
Interview
Interviews will be held on the 29th of April.
At the start of the interview, you will be asked to give a presentation, lasting no more than ten minutes, on 'Your vision for improving schools in Ceredigion over the next 3 years.'
