Senior Clerical Officer
We are looking for a well organised individual to ensure an effective clerical support service is provided to our stakeholders and customers.
Duties for the post include providing an effective financial business support service, including the handling and recording of both Council and client fund monies; processing manual and computerised financial, client and service information; producing and analysing reports; document production including typing letters & reports; processing purchase orders; providing basic IT assistance and instructing, allocating and checking work of employees and, offering advice and guidance to clerical assistants where required.
You will work as part of the Customer & Business Services team supporting multiple social work establishments across Renfrewshire. You may work independently or as part of an onsite team and will be first point of contact for clerical support to local managers and their staff. Effective organisational skills and a flexible approach are therefore essential, as are effective communication skills as you will be working in busy establishments supporting social work clients or their families.
It is essential that you have experience of working in a clerical role and carrying out a wide range of support duties, as well as working with a range of software packages including Microsoft Excel and databases. It is also essential that you have the ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative, work to deadlines and quality standards and have effective customer service skills as well as being self-motivated and resilient when handling some challenging and vulnerable client groups.
It is desirable that you have knowledge of procurement systems as well as service user/customer information systems. Previous experience of supervising staff is also desirable along with an SVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent.
