OBJECTIVE OF ROLE (OVERVIEW):
The kitchen assistant’s expertise guarantees quality and consistency of preparation and cleaning.
REPORTS TO:
Head Chef & Sous Chef, General Manager.
OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
DUTIES:
* Ensure all food storage and product rotation maximizes potential profit.
* Ensure all product preparation is completed to standard to achieve recipe potential (salads, peeled vegetables).
* Maintain working utensils and equipment to maximize lifespan and operate at full capacity.
* Store chemicals correctly and use the correct amounts in the daily kitchen schedule.
* Receive daily produce deliveries and check quality (including weights and temperature).
* Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of the kitchen.
* Always present self in perfect uniform and adhere to correct shift start time.
* Complete quality preparation of all duties to clean, set up, handover, and close kitchen to standard.
HUMAN RESOURCES, TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT:
* Adhere to health and safety standards including risk assessment and equipment maintenance.
REPORTING AND RESPONSIBILITY:
* Adhere to all company rules, regulations, and procedures.
* Ensure all health and safety requirements are followed.
* Communicate any potential problems to the duty manager.
* Perform any reasonable task as directed by managers and operations managers.
* Implement best practices to reduce wastage.
* Take responsibility for stock rotation.
BASICS:
* Turn up on time: EMBANKMENT KITCHEN staff are always ready for their shift 5 minutes early, dressed and full of enthusiasm.
* Have fun: You spend too much time at work not to enjoy it.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent.
Schedule:
* Monday to Friday.
* Weekend availability.
