An exciting opportunity to join a cutting-edge company which takes pride in serving 6m customers keeping them safe and warm every day. As the Management Accountant Manager at SGN you will have responsibility for a number of specific management accounting
activities completed in line with an agreed schedule. This could include periodic journals to capture accruals, pre-payments and other accounting adjustments required. They are also responsible for the management accounting team.

How you’ll support us on our mission to keep people safe and warm…
Completing a number of specific management accounting activities in line with an agreed schedule
Gathering and analysing financial information for internal use
Assisting in the preparation of periodic financial management report for leadership team, budget holders and operations and back office teams, ensuring compliance to associated service levels
Supervising bank reconciliations for all bank accounts and to produce regular reconciliations of other accounts.
Providing support, assistance and guidance to all business partners working with P&L owners
Managing all entries to the ledger and to ensure that appropriate documentation is received and filed
Liaising with the FP&A team to support budget and forecast production
Evaluating SGN’s performance using key data
Supporting root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborating with other departments to streamline processes and improve efficiency
Utilising technology and systems to enhance the management accounting processes
Supporting and develop both the management & junior management accountants
What you’ll need
Proven experience in management accounting, including knowledge of best practices, enabling technologies and a strong understanding of accounting principles
Educated to degree level and hold an Accounting Qualification (e.g. CIMA, ACA, ACCA, ICAS)
Experience with cash management
Ability to partner and influence, challenge and negotiate
High attention to detail and ability to work accurately when under pressure and ability to manage tight deadlines
Proactive outlook and approach
Team player with the ability to act on own initiative when appropriate;
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, Oracle & Power BI
We would prefer if you had relevant industry experience. However, if you don’t have all the qualifications, but think you have other applicable experience that would make you a good fit for the role, we would still love to hear from you.
