Salary: Up to £60,000

The role and what youll be getting up to on a day to day basis:
We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to join our dynamic Infrastructure team. This role is client-aligned and involves a blend of engineering, mentoring, thought leadership, and pre-sales activities. The successful candidate will have a strong background in generalist infrastructure engineering with a specialisation in cloud platform management through Infrastructure as Code (IaC), using tools such as Terraform or Bicep.
Key Responsibilities:
* Engineering & Mentoring:Split time between engineering tasks and mentoring other engineers.
* Thought Leadership & Pre-Sales: Provide thought leadership for specific clients and engage in pre-sales activities.
* Senior Engineer Duties:Assist with technical escalations, support major incidents, deliver complex changes, and drive capability improvements.
* Standard Engineering:Resolve complex or sensitive issues, ensure SLA and KPI compliance.
* Mentoring: Act as an escalation point for technical queries, support infrastructure MIs, contribute to technology support roadmaps, and approve high-risk technical changes.
* Automation:Identify and deploy automation opportunities.
* Client Engagement:Build trusted advisor relationships with clients and present ideas to both clients and staff.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Proven IaC Experience:Terraform preferred, Bicep also acceptable.
* Extensive Azure Cloud & Windows Server Infrastructure Experience:Demonstrated ability to maintain and manage these environments.
* Proficiency with Tooling:Including CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions), containerisation (Docker, Azure Container Apps), Git & GitHub, Linux, Entra ID & AD, and Azure Cloud Native services.
* Strong Understanding of Security Principles:Knowledgeable in network security management.
* Excellent Communication Skills:Both written and verbal.
* Effective Time Management:Ability to manage time effectively and work under pressure.
* Relevant Certifications:Such as MS-101, AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400.
* Experience with Networking and Automation Tools:Including LANs and WANs, Ansible, Terraform, Python scripting, Azure Function Apps, Kubernetes/AKS, GitOps (Flux, ArgoCD), and Azure Policy/Policy as Code.
