But, to get to where we want to be, we are looking for an Accountant to join our Finance team.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Financial Controller – FP&A, your primary responsibility will be to act as the main financial support for the Service & Warranty function of the business, as well as providing commercial support for the associated Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) Channel and cost centre support to the Selling function. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in supporting the implementation of a key growth area of the business.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Business partnering with the Service & Warranty teams, providing support on cost centre analysis and field service engineer utilization.
2. Work collaboratively with the Sales team to understand projected expenditure and develop mitigation plans for any expected over-spend.
3. Attendance and participation at the monthly Service Supply Review (SSMR), being the lead finance support for this area of Integrated Business Planning (IBP).
4. Work closely with the Product and Channel Marketing teams to understand the commercial net sales forecasts for the DTC Channel.
5. Valuing and owning the SSMR dashboards, ensuring Average Unit Prices are kept up-to-date to reflect any price increases and new service propositions.
6. Being the lead finance support on business cases, working cross-functionally to ensure an acceptable Return on Investment (ROI) is delivered and that alternative scenarios have been considered.
7. Review and approve promotions ensuring they deliver an acceptable ROI to the business.
8. Drive continuous improvement in the SSMR and wider IBP process, enhancing the quality, efficiency and integrity of data presented and working towards a longer term 5-year forecast.
Income Statement
1. Accountability for the Warranty and Systems sections of the Kohler Mira Income Statement, ensuring variances of actual to planned & forecasted performance are understood and explained.
2. Month end posting of related accruals and prepayments.
3. Month end meetings with the Finance Team to discuss actual performance against budgets and forecasts.
4. Monthly meetings with the Customer Service Operations Senior Manager and their management team to discuss actual performance against budgets and forecasts.
5. Responsibility for the co-ordination and submission of the forecasting process for Warranty, using the insights from the IBP process to drive the valuation.
Balance Sheet
1. Responsibility for reviewing and reconciling the warranty balance sheet accounts.
2. Understanding and communicating risks and opportunities across the warranty balance sheet accounts.
3. Where required, forecasting the expected future position of the warranty related balance sheet accounts.
Other
1. Work closely with the Credit Control, Internal Sales and SSC Reporting teams to ensure any Accounts Receivable items linked to the DTC channel requiring action from the Business are dealt with promptly.
2. Aligned with the business’s culture and strategic plan, seek continuous improvement in all areas of work to improve efficiency, control and reduce manual/non-valued added work through automation and other “change the work” initiatives.
3. Act as a role model and informal mentor to junior members of the team to support their development.
4. Being an active member of the finance community- Promotes and contributes to the Finance team in order to share information, drive best practice finance solutions in reporting, analysis, decision support and business partnering.
Skills/Requirements
1. Qualified CIMA / ACCA / ACA (essential).
2. SAP and BPC experience would be advantageous.
3. Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
4. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
5. Ability to balance technical capability with commercial delivery and a strong improvement mindset.
6. Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
7. Available for occasional travel.
