About the Role
• Hours: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 9am to 6pm with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break (flexibility available for fewer hours if required).
• Duties: A mix of surgical and medical nursing with nurse consultations and some cleaning responsibilities to maintain a high standard of practice hygiene.
• Weekends: Participation in the weekend rota (1 Saturday per month, 9am-1:30pm) is optional and can be taken as extra pay or time in lieu.
Ideal Candidate
• Qualified RVN: Preference for a UK-registered RVN; however, other qualified veterinary nurses intending to sit their OSCEs will be considered.
• Experience: Ideally 1+ year post-qualification. Newly qualified candidates are welcome to apply, and salaries will reflect experience.
About the Practice
• A friendly and close-knit team including 3 vets, 2 RVNs (you'll be the third), 1 SQP, and 3 VCAs.
• Fully equipped practice featuring in-house MiLab blood machines, IV fluid pumps, digital radiography (including dental), and ultrasound.
• Opportunity to work with small exotics (rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, ferrets), although experience in this area is not essential.
Your Typical Day
• One vet consults throughout the day, while another manages a mix of consultations and surgeries.
• Three to four procedures/surgeries are scheduled each day.
• The nursing team focuses on the care of surgical and medical patients, while reception and office support staff handle client communications.
