Ashford Childrens Care have an exciting opportunity to join their rapidly growing care home company as a multi-trade Maintenance Technician. The successful candidate will have strong inter-personal skills, a can-do attitude and will be confident in dealing with a wide variety of jobs.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Undertaking general decorating, carpet laying, tiling, basic electrics (wiring sockets etc.), basic plumbing (running waste pipes, tap changes etc.), basic carpentry (hanging doors, fitting locks / fixing bath panels), landscaping, fencing and property / garden clearance, re-pointing brick work and general bathroom or kitchen installation. Appliance installation, maintenance, renovation, repairing broken locks, changing locks, damage to walls.
2. General cleaning of home.
3. Complete all job sheets/reports as required in a timely manner.
4. Drive service users on a daily basis to and from school, general activities and appointments using a company mini bus.
5. Garden maintenance including cutting grass/trees/hedges, collecting/removing trash, painting.
Essential Skills:
1. Good verbal English.
2. Good communication.
3. Basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, tiling, decorating, gardening etc. (any recognised qualifications are beneficial).
4. Good time management and organization.
5. Ability to work on your own.
6. Be able to use your initiative.
7. Clean Full UK Driving license Class D1.
8. Basic health and safety knowledge.
The role will be to maintain our Care Home based in TW15 and any future sites operated by the Company. You will be undertaking maintenance in care homes with vulnerable children with disabilities and challenging behaviours, and we will require you to complete a DBS application and references prior to starting the job.
You will be required to have a clean driving licence held for at least 4 years and have Class D1 (Mini Bus) provision.
Job Types: Full-time
* Between 8.00AM and 5.00PM.
* Primarily Monday to Friday but with occasional weekend working.
* 38 Hours per week.
* Please note the role may require short notice out of hours attendance at the service for emergency repairs.
Pay: £12.50 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 38 per week
Schedule:
* Day shift.
* Every weekend.

* Monday to Friday.
Experience:
* Maintenance: 2 years (required).
Licence/Certification:
* Category D1 Licence - Clean for 4 years or more (required).
