HR Business Partner - Bristol
Are you passionate about making a real difference? We have a great opportunity for an experienced HR Business Partner located in Bristol.
Your role is about supporting senior leaders with HR advice and helping them manage their teams effectively. You will work closely with the trade unions and support complex employee relations. You will also mentor the HR Consultancy Team, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Working Hours/Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday - 09:00 am to 17:00 pm - 37 hours/week
This role is a Hybrid position which includes 2-3 days in the office/week
Salary: £36.60 per hour
Type of employment: 7 Months contract - 3 February to 29 August
You will be responsible for:
1. Building strong professional working relationships with clients, colleagues, trade unions, and staff-led groups.
2. Providing expert guidance on complex employee relations matters, helping senior leaders make informed decisions and promote best practices in people management.
3. Supporting the implementation of change management, using data and research to inform strategic direction.
4. Engaging with leaders to drive equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) efforts, working to create an inclusive workforce.
5. Supporting and challenging in leadership discussions, sometimes in the face of significant resistance, to improve decision-making.
6. Coaching and influencing senior leaders to consider the ethical impact of their decisions, taking a visible lead in solving employee relations and ethical dilemmas.
What you will bring with you:
1. Chartered MCIPD or equivalent expertise.
2. Extensive experience in a senior local authority HR role, managing complex employee relations, stakeholder engagement, and conflict resolution.
3. Proactive and strategic mindset, with the ability to foresee and tackle potential issues.
4. Strong leadership skills to inspire and develop your team, while managing performance and accountability.
5. In-depth understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), and a track record of enhancing inclusivity within organisations.
6. Experience using data and digital tools to support decision-making and service improvement.
