Employee Relations Manager – 8A
We are looking for an experienced HR professional with a passion for employee relations to join our People & Development directorate and help us create our new Employee Relations team. In line with many other NHS organisations, we believe a dedicated ER function is needed to meet our needs moving forward and to progress our alignment to the Just Culture approach. You will be responsible for the provision of the employee relations service, ensuring high quality support is provided to managers and staff. You will work with managers to build an inclusive, effective and safe culture where staff are engaged and the full range of ER situations are managed effectively and justly. You will have strong ER expertise along with excellent working knowledge of the various NHS terms and conditions of service, with the ability to develop and influence others and work at all levels.

This role is based at Orpington College where our People & Development team work but will require travel to all BHC sites throughout the borough of Bromley with some sites in Bexley & Greenwich.

Qualifications
* Masters degree in human resources, business studies or related discipline, or equivalent level of senior HR experience.
* CIPD Level 7 qualified or equivalent.
* FCIPD.
Professional Registration
* MCIPD.
Training/Knowledge
* Up-to-date knowledge of best practice, legislation, and methodologies, concepts, frameworks and tools specifically in the field of employee relations.
* Knowledge of Agenda for Change and Medical & Dental terms and conditions.
Specific Skills
* Ability to analyse and appropriately present often highly complex sensitive or confidential information, identify necessary action and make recommendations.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, including high-level negotiation and influencing, development and coaching, and managing performance effectively.
Experience
* Significant experience of leading ER process in a complex organisation, balancing strategic and a tactical approach.
* Evidence of developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
* Knowledge of the wider NHS agenda and current issues and guidance.
* Experience of working in partnership with Trade Unions and other external partners including legal advisors.
