We are currently seeking graduates to join our small friendly team of engineers working on a varied portfolio of projects based from our offices in Suffolk. We have an immediate vacancy, but are also looking for interested engineers who are graduating next year. The primary function of this role is to assist our Project Managers/Chartered Engineers in producing work predominately in the fields of security, explosives safety and weapons effects. Full training will be provided within this specialism, however we would expect the below requirements to be met: Requirements • Engineering Degree (Bachelors, Masters or PHD) • Knowledge of civil/structural/mechanical analysis methods for code compliance • Knowledge of structural material properties and models • Understanding of the construction sector • Use of engineering techniques to problem solve non-typical engineering issues • Hard working and self-motivated • Must be a UK national or hold residency for 5 or more years Desirable Attributes • Use of CAD packages • Knowledge of civil/structural/mechanical dynamic analysis methods • Knowledge / experience of blast and impact effects • Finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics • Ability to work independently and also as part of a multi discipline team both internally and with other professionals on the Clients Design Team. We operate training schemes progressing towards professional qualification with suitable engineering bodies (for example I.C.E and IMechE). This role will require you to be subject to appropriate background checks, therefore you must be willing to undergo the appropriate checks, which includes criminal record and financial checks. Due to the location of the business the successful candidate would be expected to relocate to within a commutable distance to our rural East-Anglian office., and have their own transport.
