A highly regarded SEN school in Bridgend is looking for a Behaviour and ASD Mentor with expertise in psychology to join their team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students in overcoming behavioural challenges, developing coping strategies, and reaching their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Apply psychological principles to promote positive behaviour and engagement.
* Mentor individuals and small groups of students with additional needs.
* Support students in managing behavioural challenges through emotional regulation techniques.
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff to implement personalised behaviour support plans.
* Serve as a positive role model, fostering resilience, self-awareness, and confidence.
About You:
* Experience working with young people, ideally in an SEN or educational setting.
* Background in psychology, counselling, or a related field.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and families.
* A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to behaviour management.
* Knowledge of behaviour management strategies (training available).
Requirements:
* Relevant experience in psychology, education, or mental health support.
* A strong passion for supporting young people with additional needs.
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one through the agency).
* Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
