This post brings together Safe Staffing and Chief Nursing Information Officer (CNIO) into one role to strategically lead on both the safer Staffing and agendas across the three Trust Care Groups.
The safer staffing role will support and professionally advise the divisional clinical leads to manage their overarching safer staffing and also the Trust Executive Nursing team to exercise its duty with regard to safer staffing. In particular, the delivery of the standards related to the Care Quality Commissions (CQC) regulatory framework outcome 13 - staffing and NQB.
As the CNIO you will act as a change agent working with nursing and clinical leadership teams in the identification, development, planning, implementation, and measurement of initiatives that enable the workforce to deliver high quality patient care and be enabled through advanced digital technology.
Main duties of the job
1. Ensure national safer staffing and workforce policy is understood and translated into practice within the Trust.
2. Maintain up to date knowledge of the statutory requirements of safer staffing.
3. Support, lead and direct the annual establishment reviews, escalating unmet need through to QoG.
4. Support clinical services and the executive nursing team to undertake the monthly reporting and also 6 monthly declaration.
5. Support clinical areas to effectively report safer staffing concerns on a day to day basis.
6. Work collaboratively with the Trust data and information leads to ensure safe staffing reporting is accurate, accessible and timely.
7. Support clinical teams and departments in the overarching impact of safer staffing, gaps and any consequent patient's safety or quality concerns.
8. Support relevant teams and departments in the wider recruitment and workforce plans.
9. Contribute to the robust management of nursing and midwifery temporary [bank and agency] staffing for the Trust.
10. Work closely with Divisions and HR to establish Nursing and AHP workforce processes and plans to support the Trusts workforce strategy and business plans.
11. Work with clinical teams to provide electronic systems that are fit for purpose and where we evidence learning from staff voice and through other means such as PSIIs.
12. Support and embed new technology and keep abreast of key national developments and digital opportunities.

Qualifications
* Registered Nursing Qualification
* Educated to degree level [or equivalent] and has an in-depth experience of information handling / analysis in a work environment
* Full UK driving licence. Access to vehicle for work purposes

Salary: £74,290 to £85,601 a year (pro rata for part time)
