Job Title: Special Needs Learning Mentor
The School: This school prides itself on provided a truly personalised, caring and supportive environment designed specifically for each individual student. This school is not classroom based and each child is provided with 1:1 support daily and encouraged to explore their interests to learn and grow their knowledge. You will be provided with thorough, intervention training and support and this school works hard to support the mental health of all staff as well as students. This can be quite a challenging environment and therefore true team work and trust is imperative. This is a wonderful school with only 10 students, therefore this gives you the ability to make a real positive impact on the children's lives and education journey.
Location: High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: £85-£110 per day Until taken permanent.
The Role:
1. Provide one-on-one support to students with special educational needs
2. Develop and implement individual learning plans tailored to each student's needs
3. Assist in providing each child with their own individualised timetable to meet their ability and needs
4. Monitor and record student progress, identifying areas for improvement
5. Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and other professionals involved in the student's education
Required Qualifications:
6. No specific qualifications are required as full training will be given
7. Resiliant and ability to truly understand the reasons children with these needs might present challenging behaviour and how to support them to build trust and reduce these behaviours.
8. Strong understanding of different learning styles and strategies to support students with SEN would be advantageous
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
10. Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
Experience:
11. Previous experience within a SEN environment with challenging behaviour
12. Experience in developing and implementing individual education plans - Full Training will be provided
Knowledge and Skills:
13. Ability to adapt support methods to meet the diverse needs of students
14. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
