The position we have available is a full time room leader in our nursery. We like to think we are a unique forward thinking nursery and continually reflect and strive to move forwards.
Job Purpose:
To lead a team of up to 8 staff a day to provide care and inclusive play and learning opportunities for all children attending the setting and to maintain a safe, stimulating and enjoyable environment. You'll lead your team to provide enabling environments where young children are nurtured and their development can flourish. As part of the key person system you will observe, assess and plan for key children through planning in the moment and support your team with this. We use eyLog, an online learning journey, for documenting children's progress.
About Great Wood Farm:
We care for and educate children aged from 6 weeks to 14, following the core Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, incorporating learning in an outdoor environment where free play, fresh air, exposure to the natural world and physical activity are an integral part of learning. Our outdoors ethos is a main feature within the nursery, where staff are encouraged to get out and about with the children, whether it be for a morning in the woods or in the garden visiting the animals. We have pushchairs and a walking wagon enabling even our youngest of children to have access out and about on the farm and in the woods.
We are based in a new purpose built nursery with outstanding facilities and with extensive gardens. We are based next to some large woods and have four base camps. Forest School is an integral part of our ethos can all children go regularly.

Our ideal candidate will have great passion for nature play and love of working with children. Our ideal candidate has a high level of energy and is active as well as approachable and caring. At Great Wood Farm we are looking for a team player with excellent communication skills enabling great relationships with children and partnerships with parents. Qualified to a level 3 or above and previous leadership experience in childcare is essential.
Safeguarding is extremely important to us, we will pay for you to have an enhanced DBS check and we'll fully supervise all employees until a clear DBS check is received.
