About Us
We’re an easy going, independent practice looking for a vet with strong interests outside of work to motivate their work life balance and take advantage of a favourable rota and laid-back work environment. The practice is well equipped and there is an emphasis on enjoying home life which means you end up enjoying work too; everyone seems happier and more friendly that way. We’d like someone conscientious enough to continue the practice’s strong belief in kindness and fairness. Ideally someone who has been qualified for a few years. Everyone is free to pursue their own interests and work up their own cases but there's always advice and support if you want it.
We’re an 8-vet practice with 2 branches located about 4 miles apart. The practice day is well structured; no endless hours of consulting. We get our lunch breaks and leave on time! Stroud was voted The Times best place to live in the UK with a mix of both rural and urban spaces and some funky bohemian undertones. Lots of rivers, hills, woods and views with an ice cream factory up the road.
The Role
The full-time rota averages 34 hours a week. There’s a daily mix of consulting, operating/investigating and time allocated to paperwork/calling clients. No on-call only a rota to look after stable inpatients. Consults finish and the phones go over at 6.30pm so the finish times below are genuine!
* 2 days 8.30pm to 7pm
* 1 day 8.30am to 5pm
* Fridays 8.30am to 1pm (with 1 in 7 Fridays off)
and (here’s the catch with Friday afternoons off):
* Fridays 1pm to 7pm (3 in 7)
* Saturdays 8.30am to 12.30pm (2 in 7 - these are paired with the Fridays)
We'd also consider a part-time role if they were able to share in the Friday evening/Saturday morning rota and do at least one evening shift (5 to 7pm) a week.
The Package
* Salary from £40,000 to £65,000
* No on call
* 5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays
* CPD allowance and professional subscriptions paid
