Job summary The Elms Surgery in Watford is seeking a locum/salaried practice nurse to support our healthcare team for approximately 3-4 hours every other week, timings to suit, however afternoons preferred. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care and support in a medical practice setting and be keen to make a positive impact on patient well-being and contribute to the delivery of quality healthcare services. Main duties of the job Conduct patient assessments and provide appropriate care and treatment for spirometry. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality. Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver comprehensive patient care. About us The Elms Surgery is a medium sized practice located in Nascot village and Cassiobury area of central Watford. As well as the excellent road and rail commuter links there are many outstanding schools nearby, both primary and secondary, including Watford Boys and Girls Grammar. The practice looks after almost 9,000 patients and is part of the Central Watford PCN and uses EMIS clinical system. The surgery offers free parking. Person Specification Qualifications Essential Must be accredited with ARTP spirometry and on the national spirometry register. Qualified Nurse with current registration with the nursing and midwifery council (NMC) - EMIS trained. Experience Essential Proven experience in a clinical setting, preferably in general practice. Strong patient care skills with a compassionate and empathetic approach. Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Commitment to continuous professional development.
