The Role The reception team are the first point of contact for many of our Fellows, Members and visitors to the College. The receptionist will be responsible for prioritising our visitor’s enquiries, directing telephone calls and forwarding E-mails to the relevant individual or department in a calm and efficient manner. The post holder’s key role is to maintain the provision of day-to-day running of the College reception area, dealing professionally with telephone calls, e-mails, receipt of postal mail and deliveries and the facilitation of all staff and visitors to the College. This post is responsible for assisting in welcoming and facilitating 15,000 visitors to the College per year, in excess of 800 meetings and events held in College per year and over 100 College employees. About You The postholder will require the following: · Customer focussed with strong ability to deal with individuals on all levels in a friendly, welcoming and helpful manner - (essential) · Previous reception experience preferable - (desirable) · Possess good verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail - (desirable) · Must be computer literate - (essential) · Able to work calmly and professionally under pressure – (essential) · Ability to work in a team, always displaying strong values and behaviours - (essential) While the working hours are normally Monday to Friday, 0800 – 1230, the ideal postholder would be flexible and where possible be able to cover the morning/afternoon shift during any periods of sickness and absence of their work colleague.
