Position: Digital and Data Lead

This is a site-based role at Barnard Castle.
Lead the Digital & Data team providing implementation of tools for data analysis, modelling and visualisation with the goal of leveraging data as a key asset to draw conclusions to support decision making. To deliver continuous improvement aligned to site goals, with GPS on the core of everything is done.
This role is directly involved in the delivery of the GSC Smart Manufacturing business imperative, using technology and data to transform the way we manufacture and supply, creating a reliable, resilient and agile supply chain, with a view to being industry leading in smart manufacturing.
In this role you will:
1. Provide support or manage the execution of the site digital projects from a cost, schedule, risks, scope and benefits perspective. Manage and provide a high level of Data Science/Statistical/Data management capability to support Barnard Castle operations.
2. Develop and implement training and mentoring programmes to support the Barnard Castle Business in the areas of applied statistics, data science and analytics.
3. Act as the site subject matter expert for Data Science/Statistics. Provide technical solutions that require a sophisticated level of programming, statistical, database and visualisation expertise. Interface and partner with the GSK central digital teams and other sites to contribute, share and leverage best practice.
4. Lead digital continuous improvement initiatives across the site either in support of our digital strategy and to help improve the way we work.
5. Develop technical/business requirements for digital solutions. Work on the site digital organization and the functions and will be operating with core project management duties held against the site digital roadmap.
6. Enable collaborative engagement and integration of activity across multiple teams on site including Production, Quality, Engineering, GPS, Tech, Logistics and MSAT.
Qualifications & Skills:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
1. Minimum BS degree in STEM subjects (Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, Bioinformatics, Engineering, Mathematics, Chemistry)
2. Leadership experience.
3. Implementation of digital tools.
4. Familiar with best practice project management tools and methods.
5. Experience working in a regulated GMP environment, preferably in a biopharmaceutical industry.
6. Proven track record of delivery of quantifiable business improvement.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
1. Advanced degree in STEM subjects (Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, Bioinformatics, Engineering, Mathematics, Chemistry)
2. Experience in being a people leader/line manager in a technical-data related environment.
3. Knowledge and experience of the data landscape in healthcare, and/or experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical or consulting are preferred.
4. Experience in coaching and developing others.
5. Experience with one or more of the following: MS Access, SAP data structures and extraction (in Manufacturing, Maintenance & Quality); Power Automate; augmented reality solution deployment; managing virtual reality platforms and content.
