Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our well established HPB/NET CNS team at the Royal Surrey Cancer Centre .We are a regional HPB centre and accept oncology referrals from a large geographical area offering a variety of oncological treatments at our cancer centre .We are seeking and enthusiastic, compassionate ,experienced nurse to complement our growing CNS team. We are looking for a team-player who can be adaptable and responsive in the management of this vast patient group who can have acute clinical needs.
The successful post holder will be responsible for the development of innovative nursing practice and the provision of specialist advice within their field, implementing personalised care to enhance the patient experience. Previous CNS experience in HPB /NET is desirable however, developmental role will be considered for the right candidate.
Main duties of the job
The key purpose of the HPB/NETClinical Nurse Specialist is to work autonomously alongside our established CNS and Care co-ordinator team to co-ordinate the delivery of a comprehensive and holistic HPB and NET cancer service within the Trust.
The CNS will provide support/key worker status to HPB/NET cancer patients and their families/carers from diagnosis and throughout their pathway. With the support of the MDT, the post holder will endeavour to provide a patient focused service, offering holistic assessment, specialist support and information and provide psychological support as necessary.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) will be responsible for the development of innovative nursing practice and the provision of specialist advice within their field. They will be an educational resource to all members of the MDT and the wider Trust, and facilitate the development of nurses and healthcare staff in order to improve the patient experience. The post holder will be a central member of the multidisciplinary team within theRoyal Surrey Cancer Center cancer Alliance.

7. Extensive knowledge of the brain tumour pathway including surgery and oncology
8. CPD - Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development
9. Experience of nurse led assessment/holistic assessments/co-ordination of care/working autonomously
10. Knowledge of relevant policies and local/national guidelines in neuro-oncology services
11. Evidence of MDT working and team collaborations
