Academics Ltd are currently looking for Teaching Assistants who are looking to support students in a PRU setting. The school is a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) that offers a full-time provision for students in Key Stage 3 and 4 who require Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) support. You will be patient, caring and have the ability to deal with/manage challenging behaviour. Students making progression academically and with their SEMH will be your priority therefore there is a lot of understanding required for this role.
This is a fantastic school that endeavours to improve the life changes of every young person who enters the centre, providing a holistic approach to teaching and learning and celebrating success. Unlike mainstream schools, all pupils have a personalised learning and a meaningful intervention/plan. Students have access to a range of academic and learning vocational qualifications.
The centre is supported by specialist Teachers and Teaching Assistants, their own Integrated Therapy Service, and other agencies.
There are a number of roles available, both Full Time & Part Time, so if you are interested and have the experience of supporting children with challenging behaviour / SEMH then we would love to hear from you!
You must have:
1. A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or higher/equivalent)
2. Experience of working within a school setting/similar
3. Experience of supporting students with challenging behaviour
4. Experience of supporting SEN students
